Graphic Novel
For the graphic novel the archives worked with artist and curator Paul Sammut whose work focuses on narrative forms, marginalised cultures and archival practices. Paul used the archival research to build a series of micro-narratives, focusing on moments in a selection of these people’s lives, examining both the internal narrative that could be playing out in their mind and also building in wider context from Victorian era Buckinghamshire.
As part of the project we were also able to facilitate public workshops led by Paul, which engaged Buckinghamshire residents with both the research and also the process of writing and sketching graphic novels and creating stories which engage with the experience of marginalised communities
The entire graphic novel can be accessed for free here, and is also available through the Buckinghamshire Libraries service.
